Mr. Stone is the Senior Fellow of the Harvard Corporation. He has been Chairman Emeritus of Kirby Corp. since 1995 and served as Chairman of the Board of Kirby Corp. from 1983 to 1995.

Mr. Stone has served as a director of The Chubb Corporation, Core Industries, Inc., Corning Incorporated, NovaCare, Inc., The Pittston Company, Russell Reynolds Associates, Inc., various funds managed by Scudder Stevens & Clark, Inc., Tandem Computers Incorporated, and Tejas Gas Corporation.

Mr. Stone was a lead investor for Industrial Capital Group, Intersouth Partners, Morgan Holland Venture Partners, and The Mayfield Fund, and played a significant role in Harvard University’s entrance into private equity investing.

Mr. Stone has actively invested in venture capital partnerships for over 30 years.
